The following, given in response to a Quora question asking after poems and haiku about entrepreneurship; five minutes to create, a haiku chain.
Entrepreneur
the hopeful innovator
seeking out a niche
Like a new mother,
contractions, new and scary
push at new ventures
The not-yet-born child,
mystery, waiting;
will it be healthy?
Pacing waiting room,
straining to hear any sound;
the board delivers
Financial doctor,
from the mahogany door,
with papers in hand
Birth certificate…
or declaration of death,
date and time fresh signed?
Cigars and champagne,
or quiet apologies?
Life, so uncertain
Impassive clock ticks
while unknown futures await;
Schrodinger’s, Inc.
